Respecting the character of a historic Old Town Alexandria residence while reflecting the homeowner's own distinct sense of style required a delicate balance of old and new. With plans to grow their family, the homeowners envisioned a kitchen that would soon become the backdrop for everyday life. Every inch of the design was carefully considered, with custom built-ins and a thoughtful layout maximizing the compact space. Contrasting wood cabinetry, checkerboard flooring and furniture-inspired details feel undeniably refined and pay homage to the home's heritage.
